Bio
Ilya has over 20 years of experience in IT as operations and programmer. In 2013, dissatisfied with the Unix shell, he started building Next Generation Shell, an Open Source project. This work on new type of shell led to quite a few insights about UIs: problems and solutions.
Talk Description
Unix shells’ UI is a result of inertia and missing paradigm shift in 1970s. It’s reasonable to assume that 60 years later we can do better… or at least try. This talk briefly describes the problem and suggests a solution, discussing different aspects of the solution.
Audience
Knowledge required – users of a Unix shell (e.g. bash) or PowerShell
Content
The talk is based on the UI in NGS blog post.
